Our complete range of downlighters. Available in various sizes, colors, and designs.
A LED downlighter is a compact fixture that you install into or onto the ceiling, distributing light evenly throughout the room. Therefore, a LED downlight is a logical choice for offices, shops, showrooms, warehouses, and also for living spaces where you are looking for calm, even basic lighting. Our assortment includes LED downlighters in various cut-out sizes, colours, and designs, suitable for both private and commercial applications.
The first choice you make is between recessed and surface-mounted. A recessed downlighter largely disappears into the ceiling, providing a sleek, discreet result, but it requires sufficient installation depth above the ceiling. If you cannot mill or lack space above the ceiling, a surface-mounted downlighter is a practical solution: you mount it directly onto the ceiling without needing to cut holes.
The cut-out size (for recessed) or outer dimension (for surface-mounted) determines whether a downlighter fits your ceiling and matches the desired light output. Are you unsure about the size? Then check our separate overviews by dimension:
When replacing, always measure the existing hole in the ceiling so that the new downlighter fits without problems.
Besides size, colour temperature determines how a room feels. The table below provides a practical guideline:
Colour Temperature |
Atmosphere |
Application |
3000K (warm white) |
Warm, relaxing |
Living room, bedroom, hospitality |
4000K (neutral white) |
Bright, professional |
Office, kitchen, shop |
6500K (daylight white) |
Fresh, functional |
Warehouse, workshop, bathroom |
Do you want to adjust the light intensity to the situation? Then choose a dimmable LED downlighter, possibly with DALI control for larger projects where multiple fixtures are centrally controlled.
The finish of the fixture partly determines its appearance in the room. If you are looking for a downlighter that stands out in a dark or industrial interior, check out our black LED downlights. If a neutral, discreet finish better suits your ceiling, then white LED downlights are the logical choice.
If you are placing the downlighter in a bathroom or other damp area, pay attention to the IP rating. Choose at least IP44 for a splash-proof version. For dry areas such as offices or living rooms, a lower IP rating is sufficient.

A downlighter spreads light broadly and evenly, making it suitable for general ambient lighting. An LED spot, on the other hand, concentrates light more, and is often used for accent lighting, for example, on an object or workstation.
A recessed downlighter is integrated into the ceiling and requires sufficient installation depth. A surface-mounted downlighter is installed onto the ceiling, which is convenient when milling or recessing is not possible.
Some of our range is dimmable, including models with DALI control for larger installations. Check the product page to see if the desired model is dimmable and what type of dimmer it is compatible with.
This depends on the existing hole in your ceiling (for replacement) or on the desired light output and available surface (for new construction). View our overviews by dimension for the most common cut-out sizes.
Yes, provided it has at least IP44. If in doubt, always choose a model with a higher IP rating, especially in areas with a lot of water vapour or direct water exposure.
